3D-MED
Develop your 3D Printing Expertise

Welcome to 3D-Med.co.uk. We aim to make 3D printing accessible to everyone. There are numerous ways of creating 3D models and printing them. We have chosen to concentrate on Ultimaker and Form 1+ as the printers of choice (due to their popularity). We focus on the general problem of converting raw medical image data into a physical 3d print.
Printing Techniques
An overview of existing 3D printing techniques.
Design Considerations
We outline specific considerations for Filament Deposition Modelling and Stereolithographic printers.
CAD Software
Examples and basic information on freely available Computer Aided Design software: Onshape and FreeCAD.
Image To Stl
How to extract a mesh from a medical image and export to the .stl format.
StL To Print
Preparing your finished model for the 3D printer.
